Saturday was a DEX day to the ship. I’m accustomed to people complaining right when they get up the top of the winding staircase. So much so that I told the servers we should bet on what the first complaint was.
*The stairs
*The temperature of the dome
*The seats
To my surprise, the first person up the stairs exclaimed how lovely it was and how excited they were. And each person voiced their pleasure in the views and the train. They spoke of how excited they were!
Wow. It was so refreshing! It set my day off to a good start because negative comments can wear me down.
The day progressed so nicely. People were drinking and laughing. Wandering through the consist and the dome. Enjoying themselves.
A lady on the front row mentioned how she loved Derek’s Alaska bracelet. He’s been wearing one proudly. This is so sweet to me. So I let her pick one out.
I didn’t give anymore out that day so I didn’t look at how many I had left.
Sunday I had some younger girls that were well behaved and I asked if they’d like one. When I took the bag out, imagine my surprise to see a $20 bill! The kind lady that loved the bracelet left me a $20 bill.
This was so kind. That’s two different experiences that made me realize that there are still kind people in the world. That don’t expect things but rather appreciate them.
So as we have the next three days off, I will make more bracelets. At least until the run out of the letter “A”.
When the train car full of kind people were about to get off the train, I thanked them for being so joyful. It makes a difference in our day when people are not crabby.
A much needed joyful expedience.
