When we pick passengers up in Whittier, we take a motor coach to the Girdwood train station, board the train, and the conductor and engineer back the train through the tunnel and into Whittier. On Sunday, we were the caboose. It was fun to watch the conductor guide the engineer through the tunnel, as he sat in a chair looking out the back of the train. Communicating on the walkie talkies.
The reflections in the waters are one of my favorites. This picture captures some of the beauty. It’s even prettier in person.
This picture was taken before the tunnel. the sun rising from its not really completely set position. As we are nearing the summer solstice. Sunset in Anchorage is currently 11:42pm and sunrise is 4:20am.
