Saturday morning the only offering is fruit or to-go breakfast sandwiches.
As I am just now getting back to myself after the two days I ingesting gluten, I am in desperate need of protein and some good, hearty meals.
I am finding it hard to find enough gluten free food when we are at work to sustain my body.
I eat some fruit and leave hungry. By the time we are on the train, my blood sugar is dropping and I’m feeling like curling up on a ball instead of serving people with a smile.
I don’t know how I’ll get through the day.
I eat a grass fed, sugar free beef stick. Wait for it to hit my blood stream. It’s not kicking in so I eat a bit of an orange and a have a sip or two of coke.
I start to feel better. But I’m discouraged that it’s so difficult to get food to sustain myself.
DEX runs are from Denali all the way to Whittier port. It’s a long day that ends around 9pm for us. Therefore, this will be a two part post. Given the lengthy time and my trying to survive physically.
To be continued…..
