Friday was a furlough day for us. It was nice to sleep in. However, many of the tours aren’t open yet. So there were not any excursions we could sign up for.
We did go into Denali Village and peruse the shops. Had a food cup of coffee. And lunch.
The shops are difficult for me because I truly love the socks. I don’t need every single style though. And every year I tell myself I’ll buy a nice pair of the Little Blue House pajamas. But I always back down on that because of the price.
We ate lunch at The Grizzly Burger. This was difficult for me because the wait for our food was almost an hour. We didn’t disclose that we were employees. It simply took a long time to get food. When I got my hamburger, it was two very thin patties cooked well done. And it wasn’t good. I would not eat there again.
We ended up back at the homestead property early. We walked to Three Bears so I could get a shooter of vodka. It is hard to fall asleep some nights. My muscles don’t want to relax.
Saturday we will head down to Whittier. Our first DEX of the season. These are typically fun runs because the passengers are excited to be headed to their cruise!
