Today was our second day off. I was feeling better from the incidental gluten ingestion, so we opted to go to some tourist spots.
First up was the Iditarod Headquarters Museum. It’s located in Wasilla, which is about 31 miles from Anchorage. We were a week early to see any dogs. But we did enjoy the short movie and the gift shop.

Down the road was the Wasilla Museum. It was a short tour but enjoyable. There was a scavenger hunt that you could do and pick a prize. There also was a small gift shop. Entrance was free too!
Next up was the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer. The indoor educational part was free. The guided outdoor tour to see the life Musk Ox was $14 per adult. It was well worth the money! The tour should have taken 45 minutes, but ours lasted a full hour. The Musk Ox are in pens and you cannot touch them. But you get a good look at them. There were little babies too!
I had planned to purchase some yarn made from the qiviut from the Musk Ox. However, it is labor intensive and therefore expensive. So I did not buy any. The yarn is beautiful colors and very soft, warm wool.

Tomorrow we will hang around the apartment and relax. Getting ready for our first run up Denali on Thursday.
