Off the Rails in Alaska

Join me on a journey through my adventurous summer in Alaska – where work meets wilderness and every day is a wild ride!

Eagle River Nature Center

Having a couple of days off in the beginning of July, as well as the use of a vehicle, we set off for Eagle River Nature Center to explore.

Eagle River Nature Center is located about 27 miles from Anchorage.

We weren’t prepared to hike any long distances, but chose the short path to a pond that had a beaver dam and nice deck area.

We then completed the circle back to the visitor’s center. It was uphill, which made me thankful it wasn’t hot outside.

The water was so beautiful. I still can’t get enough of the clear, still waters. The reflections. The colors. It’s stunning.

Enjoy my pictures! It’s even better in person!

This video shows the clarity of the water, the reflections and the beautiful colors from the glacial silt runoff.
