I finished my cleaning duties and paperwork. Then settled in for the afternoon trip. As the season is just beginning, my rail car was empty the rest of the day.
Derek also had an empty rail car. As you can move from car to car, we met up and took some pictures and caught up on how the trip went.
I’m finding it’s hard NOT to take pictures. Every turn of the head finds a new and stunning scene.
The thawing rivers with massive chunks of ice. Piled up in places. At times smaller pieces floating down the river. Some of the lakes and streams are glacially fed, mixing a turquoise hue (from the glacial silt) with the waters. The views change as we weave our way up the mountain.
Therefore, I’ve made this post a photo dump. It is as if God was showing off when He created Alaska.
Enjoy!
