Off the Rails in Alaska

Join me on a journey through my adventurous summer in Alaska – where work meets wilderness and every day is a wild ride!

Pickleball ya’ll

We found a pickleball group that was starting their outdoor season. We decided to give it a try.

I thought I was going to freeze.

Despite it being 50 degrees, it felt to me like it was in the 30s. There were two people playing in short sleeves and shorts. Perhaps if you’re a local, this is warm weather?!

The courts were hockey rinks in the winter. Now void of ice and ready for warmer sports.

There was a large grove of trees that was located on one side of the rink area, and every once in a while I’d feel a very cold, damp breeze come out of there.

I never did play. I was too cold.

I imagine as we get into a routine with work, we’ll give it another try.

And hopefully it’ll be warmer!
